Cake Smash | Sophie (An Update)

True, I have already blogged this lovely session from April but I have been incentivised to post an update by the arrival of a couple of lovely behind-the-scenes videos of her session which were put together by Sophie's Dad, Michael.

Sophie was one of the most enthusiastic smashers that I have come across to date.  Listen out for her range of appreciative noises in the video!  Need I state the obvious...she absolutely loved the cake!

My thanks to Kate, Michael and Sophie for allowing me to share!

Cake Smash | Eliana

Gorgeous Eliana visited the studio with her Mum and two Grandmas and seemed to rather enjoy being the centre of everyone's attention and who can blame her!  She was quite the perfect little model as you can see and so incredibly photogenic.   Also, is it wrong that I got total outfit envy??

Eliana, I hugely enjoyed your visit and hope to see you another time soon.

Cake Smash | Sophie

A little girl who loves singing, swimming and playing peekaboo joined me for an unashamedly pink and girly cake smash last month.  Sophie, you were a super star!  Everything from the perfectly matched tutu and two-tone sparkly pink cupcake to the infectious giggle was just perfection.

Thank you Kate and Michael for bringing Sophie for her session xxx

Cake Smash | Sofia

Sofia's cake smash session received so many "likes" and gorgeous comments from friends and family members on the initial Facebook sneak peek posts...and is it any wonder!?  So very photogenic and just a delight to photograph, her session is up there as one of my personal favourites to date.

This shoot had everything for me - from Mum, Rosa's, beautiful costume choices, to the fantastically girly cake provided as always by Neil (www.peekaboopartycakes.com) to the great new chalkboard momento that we were able to capture.   I love being able to personalise these sessions to the individual child and no two sessions are ever exactly the same.

Thank you to Rosa and Sofia for allowing me to share.

Cake Smash | Nicholas & Jonathan

A cake smash with one child is sometimes slightly chaotic but always great fun so imagine my delight (and slight trepidation) when Nicolas and Jonathan's Godmother, Angela,  booked them in for my first TWIN cake smash.

Identical twins, the only way of telling them apart was their amber beads of slightly different colours and of course, their personalised cupcakes.

Such gorgeous characters, this session was enjoyment from start to finish.  The boys had a blast and this is one very happy photographer right here.  So pleased with the results!

My thanks to one of the most together Mums I have ever met (kudos to all parents of multiples!) and a very kind and generous Godmother.

Cake Smash | Benji

The baby of the family, Benji, came to me on the very day of his first birthday for his cake smash.  Such a gorgeous boy, with a beautiful doting big sister in tow.  These two were a sheer pleasure to photograph and since Tiffany had had her big sister help her out with her cake smash a couple of years ago, it seemed only fitting that she follow tradition and give Benji a helping hand towards the end.

I am so looking forward to meeting the rest of the family in a couple of week's time for their family session!

Cake Smash | Hetfield

"This is what a one year old rockstar looks like".  Hetfield's t-shirt said it all really, he was a total rockstar for his birthday cakesmash!

Here's a little look at how it went - what fun.

Cake Smash | Bayley

When Bayley turned up for her first birthday cake smash in a gorgeous grey and white chevron  patterned dress, I had the perfect backdrop for her portrait photographs.  LOVE that co-ordination!

With her beautiful big blue and eyes and the blondest, blond hair, Bayley was an absolute angel for her session.  It only took a bit of Wiggles music from the iPhone and a few bubbles blown in her general direction before she was beaming and bopping along quite happily.

Bayley's Mum, Jo, had chosen to tie the cake smash theme in with her birthday party.  Another incredible creation from Neil at Peekaboo Party Cakes (http://www.peekaboopartycakes.com) and a fabulous rainbow tutu...what more could a girl ask for?

Thanks to Jo & Matt and of course, to the star of the show...Bayley xx

Cake Smash | Phoebe

No matter how much cajoling, prompting and pleading took place, Phoebe was most definitely NOT going to get her hands messy (clever girl!).   This beautiful set of images really highlights how you can still achieve a lovely momento of a little one's first birthday, even without the cake.  Phoebe was the most gorgeous little model!

Cake Smash | Oscar

Meet Oscar: this happy chappy came to visit me for a first birthday cake smash and we had a ball!

Lots of fun all round.

Cake Smash | Annabelle

Gorgeous Miss Belle was not the biggest fan of eating cake but did that stop us from getting some beautiful photos?  Did it heck!

With a gorgeous yellow sunflower cake to match her party theme, she may have been more interested in driving a taxi through the cake than anything else but she sure did it with style and grace.

Happy first birthday, Belle xx

Cake Smash | Hugo

Having just re-located to Sydney's Northern Beaches, I found myself  in urgent need of a new local cake maker to supply me with some delicious creations for use in my cake smashes which have proven overwhelmingly popular since I introduced them to my session offering six months ago.

Enter Neil Smith of Peekaboo Party Cakes, Seaforth (www.peekaboopartycakes.com).  Neil was intrigued by the cake smash concept and embraced it entirely, indeed so much so that he even booked in his beautiful 17-month-old son, Hugo, for a smash using none other than his fabulous Christmas Cupcake.

As the son of a cake maker I had very high hopes for Hugo's cake smashing skills and I wasn't disappointed!  After a bit of convincing that he was actually allowed to touch this particular cake, Hugo  approached with gusto.   The resulting images are just gorgeous and I think Hugo looks most at home with a wooden spoon and whisk in hand.  I can certainly see him joining Dad in the business before too long.

My thanks to Neil and Kate for allowing me to share these images and for continuing to provide me with such fabulous cakes which I know are appreciated by the bubs and Mums alike!

Cake Smash | Max

Can I just say, I L.O.V.E.D this little guy...

With the most divine curls and huge brown eyes, what's not to love?  He was the perfect cake smasher too which just about made my day.  After Max had had enough of feasting with his fingers, he very happily dived straight back in again with a whisk (which, just quietly, is apparently his favourite toy at home too!).

Max, you are a treasure.  And I know Mum and Dad think so too!

Cake Smash | Ava

Happy First Birthday little Ava!

I have loved watching you grow over the past year from a tiny newborn into a cheeky little one-year-old with so much character - make sure you tell Mum & Dad to bring you to visit at the new studio in Freshwater!
