Studio Session | James, Isabel & Sophia

Between the move to the Northern Beaches, celebrating two of my children's birthdays and preparing for Christmas, I made the decision against offering Christmas mini sessions this year.  The exception to this rule was, of course, my own children!  My mother would never have forgiven me if there weren't up-to-date photos for her mantlepiece!

Christmas minis will be back for 2014.

Cake Smash | Phoebe

No matter how much cajoling, prompting and pleading took place, Phoebe was most definitely NOT going to get her hands messy (clever girl!).   This beautiful set of images really highlights how you can still achieve a lovely momento of a little one's first birthday, even without the cake.  Phoebe was the most gorgeous little model!

Cake Smash | Oscar

Meet Oscar: this happy chappy came to visit me for a first birthday cake smash and we had a ball!

Lots of fun all round.

Cake Smash | Annabelle

Gorgeous Miss Belle was not the biggest fan of eating cake but did that stop us from getting some beautiful photos?  Did it heck!

With a gorgeous yellow sunflower cake to match her party theme, she may have been more interested in driving a taxi through the cake than anything else but she sure did it with style and grace.

Happy first birthday, Belle xx

Maternity Session | Clifton Gardens

It's been a while between maternity sessions for me and I have to say that I have really missed them!

No doubt, a maternity session is not for everyone, and even one of my closest friends needed some convincing.  Many women feel vulnerable and self-conscious in front of the camera and this may be doubly so in pregnancy.  But what a beautiful thing to have captured for you, what an amazing memory of such a special time.  There's a good reason that pregnant women are said to "glow".

I am so disappointed to have almost no photographic memories of my three pregnancies and I sincerely regret it.  I am, however, truly thrilled to be able to have captured these beautiful reminders for Penny, and I will be equally honoured to do the same for you if you are interested...

Family Session | Bronte Beach

December and early January has been choc-a-block with extended family shoots as many siblings, Parents and Grandparents come together to celebrate the festive season.

Little Angus was one of the lucky ones to be surrounded by an adoring family and clearly enjoyed all the attention he was getting from both his Aussie and Irish Grandparents.  We spent a lovely hour together at Bronte for this session - you would never know from these that there was a huge surf carnival going on would you!

Cake Smash | Hugo

Having just re-located to Sydney's Northern Beaches, I found myself  in urgent need of a new local cake maker to supply me with some delicious creations for use in my cake smashes which have proven overwhelmingly popular since I introduced them to my session offering six months ago.

Enter Neil Smith of Peekaboo Party Cakes, Seaforth (www.peekaboopartycakes.com).  Neil was intrigued by the cake smash concept and embraced it entirely, indeed so much so that he even booked in his beautiful 17-month-old son, Hugo, for a smash using none other than his fabulous Christmas Cupcake.

As the son of a cake maker I had very high hopes for Hugo's cake smashing skills and I wasn't disappointed!  After a bit of convincing that he was actually allowed to touch this particular cake, Hugo  approached with gusto.   The resulting images are just gorgeous and I think Hugo looks most at home with a wooden spoon and whisk in hand.  I can certainly see him joining Dad in the business before too long.

My thanks to Neil and Kate for allowing me to share these images and for continuing to provide me with such fabulous cakes which I know are appreciated by the bubs and Mums alike!
